DOCMAIL: HOW DO I USE IT?
STEP 5: VALIDATING THE ADDRESS LIST
Based on the column headers of the mail-merge fields we established in the Excel or .csv file Docmail now builds the list of addresses. At this stage, there is the option to re-map the columns to different fields - handy if working with existing address lists where the headings don't correspond, but for our example, leave things just as they are.
Click 'Next' once you are happy with the mapping. You next have the choice as to how the recipients' addresses are displayed by Docmail. Select your preferred option...
An orange question mark means that an address does not fully match the Royal Mail database listing, which could be to do with the first line of the address conflicting with the Postcode in some way. This will incur a postal surcharge if not amended. By clicking "EDIT" you can make changes as necessary and Docmail will re-check against the database, awarding the green tick once the two tally.
By clicking "Next", Docmail generates a PDF proof of the letter ▶
